Palmdale District Schools

What is a 'makerspace'? It's a collaborative workspace for making, learning, exploring, and sharing. It's also what Menemsha provided to five Palmdale District Schools during late 2020 and early 2021. Our task went beyond just building the makerspace – we were also enlisted for details to make the space special. One key component in each school was a clear acrylic wall exposing the innerworkings of the school's structure to get kids interested in construction. We also created large concrete letters spelling 'MAKER and 'SPACE.' These sculptures were a complicated aspect that required coordination between multiple parties to design, build forms, pour concrete and shape down. Additionally, Menemsha helped to make ADA upgrades that the schools needed. Our work with Palmdale District Schools will provide a lasting impact on the district's students, providing them with a better place to learn and grow.
